Call for Papers: Diversity in Women’s History
The next Women’s History Network Midlands Region conference will be held online via Zoom on Saturday 12 November 2022. We invite abstracts for papers around the theme of diversity in women’s history. We are keen to receive proposals which address ‘diversity’ in any form. This may include research into diverse groups of people, places or time periods, but equally diverse ways of ‘doing’ women’s history, or working with diverse sources, and we encourage participants to interpret this theme as broadly as possible. We welcome proposals from academics working at all levels, but particularly postgraduate and Early Career Researchers. We would also be particularly keen to receive proposals from those working outside academia, especially from community history groups, those working in the heritage sector, and/or from independent scholars.
Proposals may take the form of: 15 minute individual papers; roundtables; lightening talks or another format – please contact the organisers if you have any questions. As the conference will take place online, attendance will be free and panellists may be based within the UK or further afield. Please note, however, that the conference will take place between 10am and 4pm GMT.
Please send proposals to WHNMidlands@gmail.com by Friday 9 September 2022. Proposals should be no more than 250 words, and additionally include a short biography of all participants. We will endeavour to acknowledge receipt within 10 working days; if you have not heard from us within this timeframe, please send again. Please address any queries to: Anna Dearden, Rose Debenham, Edda Nicolson or Anna Muggeridge at the above address.
